A Gay rights group in San Diego, CA is being sued by Target -the national retailer based out of Minnesota, for “harassing” tactics used to engage customers in discussions of gay marriage in California. The chain says that there have been at least 10 complaints from its stores from shoppers. Target further states that the tactics used are aggressive, and confrontational. The canvassing group replies that it’s members are taught specifically how to engage without being confrontational. The U.S. Supreme Court has in the recent past – ruled that public shopping malls, and other such similar locations are “today’s forum” and require that “free speech” be allowed there.
